Sophia purred today...

My little sweetheart used to do this all the time when she was brand new. She'd just purr in her sleep when we held or touched her. She hasn't done it in a long time now though since she is a big girl :).

But today she purred while I petted her in her sleep and I hope I never forget these sweet little moments with her.

Goals?

Okay, there are several things I'd like to find time in my life to do.

Here they are:

Finish listening to One Thousand Splendid Suns on audio book, read some of the books stacked up by my bed (to be enumerated later), cook and eat more, start the C25K running program (though I've never really run before), blog more consistently, and find a bit of time each day (or most days) to work on teaching myself farsi through the Rosetta Stone program that I spent so much $$ on and that has been sitting on my bedroom floor staring at me while my inlaws ask how it is coming along :(, I wouldn't mind learning to knit either, but one thing at a time, You know? Oh yes, and last, but not least - I'd like to make a scrapbook of all the little pregnancy/ birth stuff from Sophia. Ok, one more - sort through my boxes of pictures to see if I have any baby pictures of myself since my parents can't seem to recover any (trials of a 3rd born).

Ok, on a less OCD/ list making note, yesterday we took Sophia out into the snow. Pics to follow. She was in a giant snow suit that looks like a bear. to be cont....

To blog or not to blog?

Well, I am trying to be a blogger, but what to blog about is of concern. Of course, the things I think about seem rather mundane, but then most blogs are just that, you know? Everyday happenings in the lives of regular people.

Welcome to 2008

Well, I've been meaning to blog for the last 2 months, so we'll see how this goes. Sophia is 5 mos old now and we are getting into more of a groove together making life more restful and fun. She is starting to be able to sit on her own and it looks like some teeth are in our near future.

I'm getting into cooking again and have been using the cookbook, "Saving Dinner" with lots of success. So far, Shahin and I have enjoyed everything I've made from there.

I'm also about to start teaching myself Farsi (persian) with the help of the Rosetta Stone program so that'll be really cool and hopefully Sophia will start her life being bilingual.

More about Sophia: We have finally started a consistent bedtime routine including a bath/ massage, nursing, then bed. It seems to be helping her fall asleep much more easily. And we've been getting more consistent with her wakeup time as well, not waking her exactly but helping her wake by 7am to start her day.

I'm also really into a few blogs and internet forums. My favorite of the latter is the local ICAN group right now as I had a c/s with Sophia because she was a footling breech (more on that later).

Okay, this is just a rambling, update post, but also - we are getting Sophia's ears pierced on Monday and then she'll be going for a vaccine shot on Friday (1st dose of DTaP). She's only had 1 dose each of Hib and Prevnar thus far.

I guess that's it for the moment. Hasta luego...
